I think its interesting the way people assume Im single by circumstance and not choice. Yes, I am now open to finding the "one," but that wasn't always so.
In the very recent past, I was dead set against a committed relationship. The very thought of sharing my personal space made me physically ill. My stomach would tighten and I would feel very uneasy.
That's why I like to move so slow, because I want to be totally sure that who I choose is worthy of me allowing them to use my bathroom. (I say that because I don't let guys use the bathroom in my bedroom. I make them use the main bathroom in the hallway.)
Anyway, I digress.
I've been posting my blog entries on different sites, and its funny the way people make comments like, "you'll find the one soon," or "you're too aggressive, you'll never find a man like that." The best ones are from people who try to tell me that I need to follow the rules of dating if I want to snag a man.
Sometimes I correct them, and sometimes I don't. But I just want to yell sometimes, "People do date for FUN, you know!!!"
Just because I go out on a date doesnt mean Im looking for a ring. And even if I were, it doesnt mean it's with each guy I go out with. I mean, look, Im single and I enjoy being single. Im open to a commitment, but it has to be with the right person. so, dating is fun for me. A free meal, and (hopefully) good conversation.
The only thing about being single is that it's lonely on random occasional nights. That's the only drawback I see at this point. Ha ha ha
And eventually, I will settle down, and I do want to work toward that with someone, but in the meantime, Im not down, Im not desparate and I can get married tomorrow if I want. I just have to WANT it.
Okay, Im done venting. That is all...
More stories coming soon. Just been super busy.

I always liked the fact that you stand apart on things. It is refreshing and I am glad to call you my friend.
At the end of the day you're the one that has to live with yourself. Do what is right for you and yours first. Word!
I swear, you're the most confident woman I know. (I love it)Being single is definitely a choice. You know what you want and don't want you're time wasted and is considerate enough to not waste anyone else time.
Dont know why I am just now seeing this! But thank you Skye!
Thank you! So true LaRhonda
