Smile So Bright (new date)... and also HTG goes ghost

So for reasons unknown, Hunky Teacher Guy has been ghost since this past Monday. I was a little salty at first, because I thought things were progressing. I won’t say that I’m totally done with HTG, but I’m not chasing behind him either. I decided last week to unhide my dating profile and have been getting a lot of bites, but none too interesting until yesterday. I was going through the photos in the “Would You Meet Him?” section of the site, when I came across this amazing smile. I hit “No” by mistake, because I was just in the habit. (The guys out here are just, meh, so I’m usually hitting “no” all the time. One day I’m going to post nothing but pictures from the site so you guys can see what I’m talking about.) Anyway, I see this hottie just all smiles and I looked at more of his photos and decided that yes, I would meet him if given the chance. So I click, “Yes,” and keep clicking through photos. About 10 minutes later I get a message from Smile-Bright (My name for him). We messaged back a couple times, but you know how I do. I don’t just hang on these dating sites waiting for messages. I check in like once or twice a day; sometimes more, sometimes not at all. Just depends on what I’m doing that day. There’s no consistency at all for me. I gave him my number and asked if he wanted to meet or something. He said sure. So I was all like, great, what time? And he said any time after 6. To make a long story short, I was super late. I told him 815, then 830. I didn’t get there until a little after 9. The thing was, I was gardening all day and I was really dirty, plus I had to wash my hair and do my makeup and all of that. Plus, I left my wallet home and had to go back and get it, but didn’t realize it until I got to the gas station, which I had to stop off at first to fill my tank! So it took a while to get on the road. But he was really cool about it all. Besides me getting out of the house in about 1.5 hours is good considering everything I had to do. I didn’t even begin getting ready until a little after 7. He suggested this pub called Kate’s Irish Pub in Springfield, since he lives in Alexandria. That’s about the halfway point for us. He stayed on the phone with me to help me find it when I called to tell him I think I passed it because my GPS totally took me to the wrong place. He guided me into the right parking lot and the date went from there. Well, he is super short. About 5,5”. So me in heels of course I was taller than him. He didn’t mind at all. He said he was used to it. Hahahahaha His accent is pretty strong and I like it. He said most of his family lives in Spain, so he goes to Spain often. He plays soccer with a local league and he is very health conscious. He has a son who lives in Bolivia. He visits in the summers. I’m okay with that arrangement. He works in IT, but he also is a filmmaker, which is cool because I act. He was all smiles, and seems very happy. His energy was really good! We talked about all types of things and I couldn’t even believe all the stuff I was telling him. We both were drinking Angry Orchard hard cider and I was getting tipsy. He said he was getting a buzz too. And we were laughing and having a good time. We actually have lots in common, so we ended up staying much longer than I intended to because I didnt realize how much time had passed! (^_^) He was a little touchy feely, but I’ve found that most Latin guys are like that. But he was okay. He asked me at the table what he had to do for a kiss. But before I could answer, he leaned in and kissed me. It wasn’t awkward though. It was sweet. He seemed so interested in me and my life. I liked that a lot. Being that I’m from Philly, he said he’s never been and wanted to know if I would take him. I said sure, maybe next Sunday. He said he was going to hold me to that too. Ha ha I also learned that he traveled all over Europe making films and it was very interesting. He told me he would teach me Spanish. He seems like a good dad and very caring. I felt special the entire night. Great date. Will definitely see him again.
